Matter of Becomingis a series by Serdar Akdeniz that explores formation as an ongoing material condition rather than a completed event. The works do not depict fixed places, figures or memories, but follow the way images gradually emerge through accumulation, interruption and change.

Each piece begins with hand-built surfaces where drawing, texture and fragments of matter remain inseparable. Forms appear slowly and unevenly, never separating completely from the material that produces them. What becomes visible is not an image placed onto the surface, but a temporary state that continues to shift between appearance and dissolution.

Throughout the series, houses, landscapes, flowers and architectural traces remain suspended between recognition and abstraction. They are not presented as subjects to be represented, but as conditions through which matter organizes itself into provisional form. What persists is not the stability of the image, but the continuous process of becoming.
